Different Models for Inclusion of National Minorities
regional conference with the performance
19th December 2014,
Belgrade Youth Center (Dom omladine Beograd) , Americana Hall, Belgrade, Serbia
Regional Endeavour for Art, Culture and Health - REACH proudly invites you to a one-day conference titled "Different Models for Inclusion of National Minorities" which will be held on 19th December 2014 in Belgrade, Serbia and will be opened by the theatre performance "Theater for Inclusion."
The conference is the final activity of the wider project "Minority Inclusion shouldn’t be Illusion." Another important project activity, beside the conference, is a four-day training course (from 15th until 18th December) which will gather 16 young artists and activists from 8 countries from the region (Hungary, Croatia, Albania, Romania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Bulgaria) where they will share personal experiences through the processes of both getting to know each other and mutual understanding in order to develop common active roles in their societies. Participants explore the topics of antidiscrimination, tolerance and inclusion of national minorities in the society, as well as enriching regional cultural cooperation using theatre methodology as a powerful tool for social change. As the final result of the intensive training work, performance “Theater for Inclusion” will be conducted by the participants on the opening day of the interactive conference.
Both training and conference are dedicated to opening questions towards concrete steps of inclusion of national minorities into the social, political, economical and cultural life of Serbia and the region. By emphasizing and opening topics such as cultural cooperation as part of inclusion, experiences of our neighbours in the inclusion of national minorities, challenges of inclusion in multicultural societies and many others, this event will become a place for open interactive dialogue in which both speakers and guests from Serbia and the region will have a chance to exchange thoughts and experiences about rights, inclusion and improvement of the position of the national minorities in the society. Conference will include individuals and organizations from different segments of society, representatives of governmental and European institutions, experts, artistic, cultural, business and non-governmental sector and will be open for the public.
We are inviting you to come to this event and to actively contribute to the open intercultural dialogue. Presence at the conference is open for everyone who is interested to come. Please, send us your confirmation (name, surname, institution/organization/company, phone number) at milena.todorovic@reach.org.rs not later than 16th of December 2014. Should you need any further information do not hesitate to contact us.
